Ennoblement as deterioration |
|
| |
| |
He sat there in a heap of his own flesh, bones and water. Life had sucked him up and now he overate to try to make up for his losses. Was it merely genetics – that random roll of the dice? Don’t we all wear thorny crowns? Mustn’t we just accept life’s cruelties and accept our lots?
It was insufferable for him, I presume, to be declining and in such a violence of passivity, barely able to breathe outside of the Reaper’s grasp. Or was it mostly his family’s lack of acceptance that enforced this reality?
Is it really possible to deteriorate with nobility? Or to nobly deteriorate? |
