 Art Thoughts - 1989

I find the more receptive and relaxed I am, the more I hear, the more I feel.  And the more receptive, resilient –- the more possibility for change, for new experience, feeling, vision.  Bridges constantly sprout in further comprehension –- expanding systems of being, until there is no system.  The joy of being is effortless and becomes the dance of living.

I ride the waves of the night's breeze as it encircles the candle-lit nest, laying back into the softest hammocks of infinity's receptivity, letting it flow through as the wind.  We are not separate from this endless power of nature, of our own.  How essential it is to recognize that which we are, before defense, before conditioning –- the fresh mountain stream of us, after the rains. The part that has not been polluted by conditioning, negative thought, self-coercion.  The pure stream of the unique, inherent in each of us, let free to roll over stones and engranule sands in our ever-changing forms.  How essential it is to constantly let ourselves ripen into an ever more refined nature, until we are more transparent, lighter –- not carrying the baggage of judgment, the boomerangs of self-division. How essential it is to let our visions breathe us, to let nature, inside, outside be recognized as us. Knowing that wild power is us. Our great task is to return to that realm before self-division and bring the future with us –- our ideals.

To feel wondrously anew for the real living of every abundant moment requires that we know ourselves..  As the hawks and the rabbits know what they need to survive, so must we answer our deepest soul and feel the intricate thread of our vast connection as the infinite power –- our essential flame united in the great kiln as the altar of our burning reverence for life.

Living here has softened me to the unconditioned, to the most essential.

The ordinary, the mechanized can be transformed by a change of perception, vibrancy of spirit, purpose.
